Your custom-made dressing
A custom dressing room can take many forms, so you have a lot of options in terms of finish and layout. Do you go for open or closed cabinets? In a luxurious U-shape or practical L-shape with corner cupboard? In one or more colors? We'll help you find the perfect closet for your space.
-
Open or closed closet
If the dressing room is in the bedroom, it is best to choose closed cabinets so as not to give the room a chaotic and tangled impression. If you have a separate room, then basically anything is possible: open or closed cabinets in the shape and design you want.
-
Classification according to wardrobe
Instead of ironing and then folding your clothes, maybe it's more convenient to hang them neatly right away? Therefore, provide plenty of hanging space (tip: keep long dresses in mind) and combine with shelves and/or drawers to store away socks or underwear, for example.
-
Finish off with convenient extras
Finesse down to the smallest detail! Complete your dressing room with stylish finishes and clever details. Choose from fun handles, black hinges and black shelf supports to give your closet a unique look. A metallic or black clothes rail, or extra thick 36 mm shelves? Everything is possible!

Tips & tricks: the ideal dimensions of your dressing room
Less is more, but when it comes to the ideal dimensions of your dressing room, you obviously want plenty of space. We'll give you some tips when deciding on the size:
- The ideal depth of your dressing room is 60 centimeters; this is the space you need to hang your clothes neatly. Do you have a lot of thick coats? Then it's best to take 65 centimeters of closet depth.
- For shoes or folded clothes such as t-shirts, a depth of 40 centimeters is sufficient.
- If you want to dress easily and walk around freely when the closet doors are open, count on a walking space of 1.2 to 1.5 meters.

What measurements do I need to take for my made-to-measure wardrobe?
Every wardrobe starts with a few simple measurements. You’ll need to note down the width, height and depth of your space. Use a carpenter's rule or laser measure for this. Does your wardrobe have sloping sides? No worries! Just take a moment to check the measurement guide.
Enter your measurements and you’ll immediately see a clear 3D model. That way, you’ll know exactly what your wardrobe will look like. Nice and easy!
Still unsure about taking the measurements? No problem. The measurement service is here to help you every step of the way.
-
What are fitting strips?
Infill panels are clever filler pieces that ensure your made-to-measure wardrobe fits perfectly into the space. They are made to measure so that your wardrobe fits snugly against the walls and ceiling, even if they aren’t completely straight.
Thanks to these infill panels, you get sleek built-in wardrobes with no gaps. They compensate for minor unevenness, whilst ensuring your wardrobe always looks seamless.
In short: infill panels are the unsung heroes that ensure the most precise finish for your made-to-measure built-in wardrobes!
-
How deep should a wardrobe be for my clothes?
For hanging clothes, it’s best to choose a depth of around 60 cm. A clothes hanger is about 45 cm wide, and you’ll need a bit of extra space so your clothes don’t rub against the doors. Do you have lots of thick coats for your winter trips? Then a depth of 65 cm is a comfortable choice.
The depth you enter in the design tool is always the external depth. Add about 2 cm for the back and 2 cm for the doors. For example, a wardrobe with an external depth of 50 cm has an internal depth of about 46 cm. That’s ideal for blouses and T-shirts, but just a bit too tight for thick winter coats.
For drawers and shelves, a depth of 40 cm is more than enough. This way, you can keep everything organised, neatly stacked and easily accessible.
Not every space allows for a deep wardrobe. Not much room in your wardrobe? That doesn’t mean you have to compromise on style or comfort. Clothes hooks are the perfect solution for shallow wardrobes! You make the most of your space and your clothes are beautifully displayed. Clothes hangers for your wardrobe rail are ideal for your bespoke dressing room and allow you to install a shallower wardrobe.
-
Can wardrobes be fitted under a sloping roof?
Absolutely. Your wardrobe will be fully customised to the shape of your space, even under a sloping roof! You choose how the wardrobe fits into your space. Think of a sloping back, a sloping side, or a wardrobe with two sloping sides. This way, you make the most of every inch, even in an attic or under the stairs.
Are you opting for a closet under a sloping ceiling? Then your wardrobe will neatly follow the slope, so you won’t have any wasted space. The result is a built-in wardrobe that fits snugly yet remains easily accessible. An ideal solution for anyone looking for smart storage space in rooms with sloping walls!
Not sure how to measure your sloping spaces? Don’t panic, we’ve got a few tips for measuring a sloping roof.
-
How can I request the measurement service and book an appointment?
How does the process work? You can easily submit your request via the website. This ensures our expert has all the necessary details straight away. Please let us know how many cupboards are involved and briefly describe your project. You can add photos yourself so that the surveyor can prepare as thoroughly as possible! Within 10 working days of your request, the surveyor will contact you by phone and you will work together to find a suitable date for them to visit.
-
What happens if my walls or ceilings aren’t perfectly straight? Is a bespoke solution possible?
Absolutely! That’s precisely the advantage of a bespoke solution. Your wardrobe will be tailored to the shape of your space, whether it’s a sloping wall under a roof or walls that simply aren’t quite straight.
For minor deviations, such as when a wall is 1 cm off over its full height, fitting strips ensure a perfect fit. They neatly compensate for those small differences, so your wardrobe still sits flush against the wall.
Is it a genuinely sloping wall, such as under a roof? Then the wardrobe simply follows the line of that slope. This way, you make the most of every centimetre. The perfect solution for those corners you wouldn’t otherwise be able to use!
Are you unsure about the layout of your home? Then you can opt for the measurement service, where an expert will take the correct measurements on site. That way, you can always be sure of a perfectly fitting wardrobe!
