Frequently asked questions about assembly

  • Which manual do I need?

The manuals are made per cabinet type, not per individual cabinet. So choose the type that matches your cabinet, for example "Walk-in wardrobe or storage cupboard" or "L-shaped or U-shaped cabinet". Not sure? Check your order confirmation to see which type you ordered.

  • How do I know which panel goes where?

All panels are numbered. Before you start, lay them out in order of their numbers and keep your production drawing at hand to see which numbers go where. That way you have a clear overview straight away and the assembly goes a lot more smoothly. 🙌

  • Which tools do I need?

A Phillips screwdriver, a spirit level and a drill with TX20 and PH2 bits and a 5 mm drill bit. That is all you need.

  • My drawers haven't been delivered yet. Is that normal?

Yes. The drawers are delivered directly by the drawer manufacturer, so they may arrive on a different day than your cabinet. You will receive a separate email with the day your drawers will be delivered. In the meantime, you can simply start assembling the cabinet. For assembling the Ta'Or Box drawers, you will find instructional videos via the link on this page.

  • My floor isn't level. What now?

No problem. The plinth has adjustable feet, so you can set your cabinet perfectly level, even on an uneven floor.

  • When do I fit the infill panels?

Ideally, fit your infill panels before you mount the doors. Already mounted the doors? Then take them off again to fit the infill panels. Want to know more? Read everything about infill panels.

  • Why are my infill panels and my top panel too big?

Did you choose oversized infill panels when ordering? Then the infill panels and the top panel are delivered oversized, and you cut both to size yourself. That way they always fit perfectly, even if your wall or ceiling isn't completely straight. All edges are finished with edge banding, so you choose which side to cut off. Tip: cut off the side that is least visible, for example against the wall.

  • How do I get the neatest cut on infill panels or a top panel?

    That depends on your saw:

    • Table saw: place the good side facing up.
    • Circular saw: place the good side facing down.
    • Jigsaw: use a blade with reverse teeth and place the good side facing up.

First, stick some masking tape along the cutting line. This prevents the edge from chipping. Then lightly sand the cut edge at an angle of about 45°, using sandpaper of at least P120 grit. ✹

  • Can I move the shelves later on?

The shelves, yes, using the 3 mm holes in the side panels. The height of the wardrobe lift and the drawers is fixed.

  • How do I hang a floating cabinet?

We supply the mounting hardware to hang your cabinet. Follow the steps in the manual for your cabinet type. Feel free to watch the video on hanging floating units as well.

  • My washing machine cabinet vibrates. What can I do?

    Run through these points:

    1. Is the cabinet level? Adjust it with the adjustable feet of the plinth.
    2. Is the washing machine itself level? Adjust the feet of the machine.
    3. Have all infill panels been fitted correctly?

Is the cabinet still vibrating after that? Email us at aftersales@maatkastenonline.be and we will look for a solution together.

  • A part is missing or something is damaged. What should I do?

Take photos of the damaged part and of the label, and email them to aftersales@maatkastenonline.be. Is something missing? Let us know and we will send it to you as soon as possible.
