What is the Sundae House 3.0?

Eline, the face behind interior platform Sundae.be, has renovated three full homes, each time teaming up with a group of trusted partners (‘the Friends’). For custom cabinetry, she relies on Maatkasten Online. Her mission? To inspire and inform her followers with clear tips and insights.

This edition was extra special: Eline renovated her own future home! A stunning Art Deco house that was fully restored with respect for the original architecture and a fresh, modern touch.

The custom cabinets in the Sundae Huise

There’s no shortage of inspiration here - Sundae Huis features no less than five custom cabinets by Maatkasten Online. An ergonomic laundry cabinet, a home office cabinet, an open Ibiza-style walk-in dressing, a sleek dressing, and a shoe cabinet - all perfectly tailored and designed to suit each space. Let’s take a look at them one by one!

1. The laundry cabinet – makes doing laundry a joy!

The laundry room is equipped with a fully custom cabinet. The washer and dryer are installed at ergonomic height, with spacious drawers below for extra storage. A pull-out shelf creates a handy spot for placing the laundry basket while loading and unloading.

But this cabinet isn’t just practical—it’s a real eye-catcher too! Finished in the deep green shade Green Shadow, it radiates elegance. The brass-toned Mini Pure handles add a chic finishing touch.

Next to the laundry cabinet, there’s a low dresser, creating a convenient work surface—ideal for folding clothes.

2. The unique storage cabinet in the home office

Every custom cabinet is unique, but this home office unit has a particularly special finish. The exterior is made from MDF and coated with textured paint, giving it a robust, character-rich look. The interior and open niche are done in the soft tone Turtle Grey.

Thanks to the MDF finish, the handles could be seamlessly recessed for a sleek, minimalist look. The short version of these recessed handles was chosen here - perfectly in tune with the cabinet’s refined, understated style.

4. Ella’s sleek walk-in dressing

Eline’s youngest daughter, Anna, went all in on a playful, sunny Ibiza vibe in her room. Warm colours create a cosy atmosphere that continues effortlessly into the walk-in closet.

The shade Dune Beige was chosen - a colour that fits the relaxed mood of the space beautifully. The dressing consists of two open cabinets with a convenient bench in the centre - ideal for sitting down or placing items. Thanks to the U-shape, every corner is used efficiently.

4. Ella’s sleek walk-in dressing

Eline’s second daughter, Ella, opted for a timeless, modern look in her walk-in closet. She chose the fresh white tone Front White, paired with black Olive handles. The combination of white, wooden flooring, and black accents never fails.

Black accents are also found inside the cabinet: clothing rods, shelf supports, and hinges are all in black. A space was deliberately left behind the cabinet to neatly tuck away the sliding door to the bathroom.

5. A shoe cabinet with a sunny twist

Right by the back entrance, a spacious shoe cabinet in a sunny tone welcomes you. Thanks to the Sunset shade, it feels like the sun is always shining here.
This corner-built cabinet sits just below the window, with the interior finished in crisp Front White. It features a handleless design with a grip profile.

The shelves are height-adjustable thanks to subtle row holes (tiny 3mm holes on both sides), allowing you to adapt the height to every shoe type - from tall boots to ballet flats.
